When
a woman becomes pregnant, her body produces a hormone
called hCG (human Chorionic Gonadotropin). The secretion
of this hormone by the developing placenta begins soon
after conception and increases throughout the first
trimester. The presence of hCG in the urine is an excellent
indication in the early detection of pregnancy.
PuralinTM One-Step Pregnancy Test is a rapid qualitative
test for the determination of human Chorionic Gonadotropin
(hCG) in urine. The test utilizes unique antibodies
that are specific for hCG, enabling it to be a highly sensitive and accurate
test. With the PuralinTM One-Step Pregnancy Test, pregnancy can be determined
as early as the first day of a womans missed period.
Performing
the Test: Be
sure you have followed all instructions in the Before
You Begin The
Test section. Failure to do so may cause an invalid
result.
Remove
the test device from foil pouch, by tearing at the
notch. Discard the desiccant packet.
Hold
the wand with the tip pointing downwards and place
the absorbent tip in your urine stream for 8 to 10
seconds. Be sure to hold the test device so only
the tip is being wetted.
After
8-10 seconds, remove the wand from your urine stream
and, still holding the tip pointing downwards,
lay the
test on
a flat
surface,
with the
results
window
facing up.
Read
the test after 5 minutes for final result.
Within
5 minutes, a color band will appear at the
top
of
the
results window to show that the test is completed.
The
lower section of the results window indicates
the
test
results.
Reading
the Test Results: Positive
Result: The presence of the two (2) colored bands within
the test window means that you are likely to be pregnant
and should consult your physician.
Negative Result: The presence of only one (1) color band within the window means
that you are not likely to be pregnant.
Invalid Result: After performing the test, waiting a full 5 minutes and no color
band is visible within the window, the result is considered invalid. The directions
may not have been followed correctly, or the test may have deteriorated. You
have to repeat the test by using a new PuralinTM One-Step Pregnancy Test.
