Puralin Press Release

A SAFE ALTERNATIVE

Puralin Weight Loss Tablets Offer Safe Alternative For People With High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Thyroid Disease, etc.

New Brand Has No Interaction With Other Drugs

NEW YORK -- Jan. 9, 2001 -- Puralin™, a new brand of over-the-counter, natural pharmaceutical products from Apothecus Pharmaceutical Corp., is being rolled out nationally as a safe alternative to a long list of well-known products with potentially dangerous side effects. Two products, Puralin Weight Loss Tablets™and Puralin Decongestant™, are already on many drug store shelves.

According to Daniel Leon, president of Apothecus Pharmaceutical, Puralin products have no unwanted side effects and are appropriate for anyone to use. "Puralin is especially directed to the millions who suffer from myriad health problems ranging from high blood pressure to heart disease, diabetes and enlarged prostate," says Mr. Leon. "Puralin offers them a safe alternative, because Puralin products have no unwanted side effects, no interactions with other drugs, and no rebound effect, whereby a condition can actually be exacerbated by the continued use of the product in question," he says.

For years, OTC products containing phenylpropanolamine (PPA), for example, have been required to contain warnings against their use by people suffering from various health problems. Virtually all of these same warnings are also carried on the labeling of OTC drugs, such as many decongestants, that contain pseudoephedrine HCI. Mr. Leon says that since there are great similarities in the way PPA and pseudoephedrine HCI work, and in the effect they have on the human body, these people remain at risk.

The Food and Drug Adminstration is calling for the removal of Dimetapp®, Dexatrim®, Acutrim®, Contac®, Comtrex Maximum Strength®, and Alka-Selzer Plus®, among others, because they contain PPA which has been linked to strokes in women.

Unlike those products which are allopathic (chemically-stimulated, symptom-suppressants), Puralin utilizes homeopathic ingredients which work in an entirely different way. As opposed to simply dealing with symptoms, Puralin actually uses natural substances which enhance the body's immune system and augment its stress response mechanism. Puralin does not contain PPA.

"Puralin utilizes the European method of Ultra Low Dose Therapy®," explains Mr. Leon. "Puralin stimulates an antibody effect by providing small, mild doses which, in turn, build the body's resistance against a given health problem."

Selected Puralin products are available in Wal-Mart, Rite-Aid, Eckerds, Meijer, Phar-Mor and other drug store outlets and are scheduled for immediate shipment into many more.

Puralin Weight Loss Tablets and Puralin Decongestant are both available in the $5.99 to $7.99 retail price range; prices may vary by location.
