The new sliced bread!! Anyways I first used them as a new adult and they worked very well. The only problem is if you try any thing oral while it's in then you will get numb lips or your partner will. Which is to be expected since it's a spermicide. There are plenty of folks out there that refuse condoms or pills or anything really, so I recommend this to those folks who can't be bothered with a prescription(pills), discomfort(condoms), or a regimen (remembering pills or any other b/c a professional administers). Of course it's best to use 2 methods of birth control and protection from STDs but some just won't do that. I think this product is a safeguard for those types or for those who do not need as much protection for various reasons. I haven't ever had problems with them sticking to my fingers or not dissolving or taking too long. I don't see how people are having this problem. But oh well, I LOVE THESE JOINTS!! Loved it! I love love love this product! My partner and I have tried several different methods of birth control but are limited due to our respective allergies and other medical problems. This was the first time we didn't have any issues with the contraceptive we used! I do recommend if you have not used a spermicide or condoms with spermicide before to test it first and be certain to clean yourself up afterward, but other than that it was great! Wonderfully unmessy birth control "My partner and I love these. These are not messy at all, can't be felt by either partner, and doesn't decrease sensitivity like a condom. We have been using them for years and wouldn't go back to other kinds of spermicidal birth control. The first time we used them insertion was tricky, but since then using them has been uneventful. They require 15 minutes of dissolving time and insert smoother when there is lubrication (natural or artificial), so I would suggest inserting it during foreplay. THIS IS JUST WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These films are the bomb!!!! They are very easy to use, even in Summer time; I just put them in the refrigerator for a few minutes and they are ready to use. I carefully form a little cone with it and put in in a plastic tube applicator to make sure it's going to be place in the right place. No more hormones in my system!!! Yeah! Anna Manhattan Beach, Ca
FANTASTIC if you follow directions!! When I started having hormonal problems and weight gain related to my birth control pill, I really thought I was going to live a sexless marriage! My husband HATES condoms, and I refuse to use anything with foam. I was so happy to find VCF!! When I first bought them, I made sure to read the directions and follow them exactly - it took me 2 tries and I got the hang of inserting the film. I actually find that folding it up one more time makes it easier to insert, and keeping them in a COOL, DRY place is essential-don't keep them in the bathroom where it gets steamy from the shower. Not that hard to use I find these MUCH easier and cleaner than foams or jellies. I have been using these for about a year and only had a couple get stuck to my finger. As was said in an earlier comment it's best to fold these in half twice. Just make sure you're fast and there's no problems. So far they have been an effective contraceptive, but I'm also paranoid so we use condoms too.
